Who are you? and what has basketball mean to you?

I’m Ethan Billy. I play in Savio Basketball Club. I am their point guard

Basketball has added value to my life through getting to meet a lot of people and getting a Network but also it has disciplined me to follow certain principals as a man. It has helped deal with Stress and negative vibes but also it sharpened me to be vocal and a leader on and of the court.

I see myself being a professional basketballer who has accomplished a lot for my team, this is through winning championship and taking my team to the top

Being at such different phases in each of your careers, what do you spend the most time working on individually at this point? What are you trying to improve on?

The different part has been here for a while. There are certain traits that i was also the one who didn't like or do but other thought it was all cool and swag. I never normalized going out a lot and partying, i never like to talk a lot, i never love to brag about achievements or things I've done or places i went.

I always practice and workout, especially my three-point shots. Get better at those. and combination of different things. I don’t feel like I have anything to prove to anyone at this point. i always view myself as my greatest opponent and challenge. And as of now; I think the biggest challenge for me is staying healthy and staying true to myself, not losing sight of who I am and what I need to bring to the table when the league tipoff.

What’s your first memory of playing in Wooterafrica Jr tournament and how it elevated your game in 2021?

“My first memory would be my teammates from Don Rua. We had this instant connection together. that really helped elevate us to the finals. i remember we went unbeaten to have lost in finals OT against Pwani Saints.”

‘‘Wooterafrica Jr tournament program inspired and elevate many youth games. Personally; it helped me to date to be able to play on a huge crowds. Elevated my game through gaining experience of playing with different professional players on the court and getting educated with bench staff. Everyone especially youth; remembers it to be one of the greatest, best and hottest tournament hosted in Tanzania Mainland. the only tournament which we rep from top to toe everything from Wooterafrica. We talking about players, bench staff, court, balls, referees etc. Everyone remembers it to date.” says Ethan.

“I’m huge fan of their beautiful kits — color palettes, materials, typography, and how they fit not to foeget their unmatched basketballs. The tournament made me later uplifted in senior Savio Bc team to date. I’m grateful to evolve with Wooterafrica. They sponsored our teams last season and I’m glad we still have them this year too and to many around the global

The Beautiful Game

“I’ll always wear wooterafrica collection they bring on . I just love their quality. My friend is working with the brand — and one of my prized possessions is a hood i was given by them, i like it and its my favorite possession.”
