ROOTED IN A LOVE FOR SPORTS, SUPPORTING, AND GIVING BACK THROUGH THE GAME OF BASKETBALL, WOOTER AFRICA IS NOW POISED TO GO EVEN FURTHER IN EAST AFRICA. ALONG WITH BECOMING AN OFFICIAL 501C3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, WOOTER AFRICA ASPIRES TO WORK WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND IS EVEN DISCUSSING BUILDING A BASKETBALL TRAINING CENTER.

Wooter Africa was founded by Wooter Apparel. Wooter Africa’s mission is to bring together communities and support the youth in Africa with sports. Wooter Africa is a sports organization which runs organized sports programs including leagues, clubs, teams, tournaments, and player development.

Back in May 2017, 24-year old Hamid Suleiman Ahmad contacted Wooter Apparel through social media to share his humble and heartfelt tale about growing up in Africa.

Hamid created and designed everything from his teams custom basketball uniforms to the African logo on the front of the jerseys. Wooter Apparel handled the production and delivery within a two-week period, and within those fourteen days a dream became a reality that reached from Staten Island to East Africa.

Within the last three years Wooter Africa truly has become a feel-good-story around East Africa and on the courts of cities like Morogoro, Tanzania.

For both Wooter and Hamid, the hoops journey really has come full circle.
